The Urban is a handmade British sofa designed for people who want proper comfort without an oversized or bulky look. It’s deep seated and relaxed to sit on, but visually clean and straightforward, with squared arms and balanced proportions that suit modern flats as well as busy family homes.

Each Urban sofa is handmade to order in Britain on a solid hardwood frame. The frame gives the sofa its weight and stability, keeping it supportive and dependable through years of everyday use. This is traditional upholstery work, built to last, not lightweight imported furniture.

A key practical feature of the Urban is its detachable arm system. The sofa is delivered with the arms removed and they slot firmly into place on site without tools. This makes delivery far easier in homes with narrow hallways, staircases, or standard British doorways, while still feeling solid and secure once assembled. It’s a practical solution that doesn’t compromise the strength or longevity of the sofa.

The Urban is deep seated, with generous cushioning designed for long evenings rather than upright perching. Seat cushions are removable, and are built with a supportive foam core wrapped in ultra silk fibre. This gives everyday comfort while helping the cushions keep their shape rather than softening or collapsing. Back cushions are loose and supportive, allowing a relaxed posture without losing structure.

The sofa is upholstered in Italian-tanned distressed vintage leather. This is a 100% natural, semi-aniline leather with visible grain, markings, scars, and variation in tone. Each sofa will be slightly different. Over time the leather softens and lightens rather than darkening, developing character instead of becoming shiny or uniform. All leather is oiled and waxed before delivery to nourish the hide and provide initial protection.

Like all our British-made sofas, the Urban is designed to be kept rather than replaced. Cushions can be re-stuffed, leather can be maintained, and the frame is built to last for decades of regular use.

Available as a 2 seater, 3 seater, large 4 seater, or extra-large sofa. Each piece is handmade to order with a typical lead time of 4–6 weeks.

• Clean stains with light warm soapy water and wash again with clean cold water. Pat dry or lightly with a hair dryer. Then buff up.
• Keep away from direct sunlight to prevent possible fading.
• Do not use abrasive and chemical materials such as sandpaper, alcohol, bleach for cleaning the surfaces.
• Protect from contact with sharp and hard objects.
• The leather can be cared for once a year, using a semi-analine cream added sparingly and buffed up.
