The Harriet stays at two sizes, 2 and 3-seater, rather than stretching up to a larger frame, built as a deep, comfortable sofa for a room that doesn't need the extra length a bigger piece would bring. It's offered with a genuine choice of firmness, from firm through to medium-soft, fitted at the point of upholstery depending on how you like to sit. Upholstery is our distressed vintage leather, hand-cut and fitted by our upholsterers, with a breathable cotton pad beneath the cushions letting the hide breathe rather than trapping heat, part of why it lightens and softens with age rather than cracking. Frame construction is solid hardwood, built to order in Britain, available in tan, brown, black, red or green. It suits a smaller sitting room or a second reception room, somewhere the size of a larger sofa would feel like too much. Lead time is four to six weeks, and every piece meets UK fire safety regulations for domestic upholstered furniture.

• Clean stains with light warm soapy water and wash again with clean cold water. Pat dry or lightly with a hair dryer. Then buff up.
• Keep away from direct sunlight to prevent possible fading.
• Do not use abrasive and chemical materials such as sandpaper, alcohol, bleach for cleaning the surfaces.
• Protect from contact with sharp and hard objects.
• The leather can be cared for once a year, using a semi-analine cream added sparingly and buffed up.

The leather used in our furniture is a by-product of the farming industry. Using the hide ensures more of the animal is used rather than wasted. Our sofas are made using traditional upholstery methods and solid hardwood frames, which prioritise repair and re-covering over replacement. By making each leather sofa to order in Britain, we reduce unnecessary transport and support long-established British furniture making & upholstery skills.
