The Hunter is a traditional Chesterfield built up to an Extra Large size, so it suits a proper family living room as well as a smaller sitting room without losing the deep seat and classic proportions the style is known for. The back is traditionally hand-buttoned rather than machine-pressed, a job that can't be rushed if the diamond pattern is going to sit properly for years. Upholstery is our distressed vintage leather, a semi-aniline hide tanned in Italy from natural European cattle skins, hand-cut and fitted so grain and colour vary slightly piece to piece, with a breathable cotton pad beneath it letting the hide breathe rather than trapping heat. The leather lightens gradually with age rather than cracking or wearing thin, so a well-used Hunter looks better at ten years old than it did on day one. Available in tan, brown, black, red or green, sized from a 2-seater right up to Extra Large. Lead time is four to six weeks, and every piece meets UK fire safety regulations and comes with a 15-year frame guarantee.

• Clean stains with light warm soapy water and wash again with clean cold water. Pat dry or lightly with a hair dryer. Then buff up.
• Keep away from direct sunlight to prevent possible fading.
• Do not use abrasive and chemical materials such as sandpaper, alcohol, bleach for cleaning the surfaces.
• Protect from contact with sharp and hard objects.
• The leather can be cared for once a year, using a semi-analine cream added sparingly and buffed up.
