The Chester carries the deep seat and scroll arms that define a proper Chesterfield, sized up to XL for a room that needs real presence rather than a sofa that disappears against the walls. Upholstery is our distressed vintage leather, a semi-aniline hide tanned in Italy from natural European cattle skins, hand-cut and fitted by our upholsterers rather than machine-stretched over the frame. Beneath it sits a breathable cotton pad, letting the hide breathe rather than trapping warmth, so it lightens gradually with age rather than darkening or wearing thin, gaining more character the longer it's used. Frame construction is solid hardwood, built to order in Britain. Available in tan, brown, black, red or green, sized from 2-seater up to XL. A sofa built to genuinely last decades rather than needing replacing when the leather begins to show wear, since wear here is the point rather than the problem. Lead time is four to six weeks, backed by a 15-year frame guarantee.

• Clean stains with light warm soapy water and wash again with clean cold water. Pat dry or lightly with a hair dryer. Then buff up.
• Keep away from direct sunlight to prevent possible fading.
• Do not use abrasive and chemical materials such as sandpaper, alcohol, bleach for cleaning the surfaces.
• Protect from contact with sharp and hard objects.
• The leather can be cared for once a year, using a semi-analine cream added sparingly and buffed up.

The leather used in our furniture is a by-product of the farming industry. Using the hide ensures more of the animal is used rather than wasted. Our sofas are made using traditional upholstery methods and solid hardwood frames, which prioritise repair and re-covering over replacement.
