The Starsky is the same straightforward, well-balanced design as the Urban, but with upgraded pocketed cushions for improved shape retention over time.

It’s a deep seated handmade sofa with clean, squared arms and simple proportions. Comfortable without looking oversized. It works just as well in a modern flat as it does in a busy family home.

Every Starsky is handmade to order in Britain on a solid hardwood frame. That frame gives the sofa its proper weight and stability. It’s what keeps it feeling secure after years of daily use. This is a British-made sofa built using traditional upholstery methods, not a lightweight import that shifts or flexes.

Like the Urban, the Starsky is delivered with detachable arms. They slot firmly into place on site without tools. It makes access through narrow hallways, staircases and standard British doorways far easier, without affecting the strength or feel of the finished piece.

Pocketed Cushion Construction

The seat and back cushions are fully removable and washable.

Inside each seat cushion is a supportive foam core wrapped in ultra silk fibre. In addition, the filling is pocketed to help it hold its shape more effectively over time. This means the cushions stay supportive rather than going soft and flat. They’re designed for everyday use without collapsing.

The back cushions are also removable and pocketed, giving a relaxed but structured feel. You sit into it, not on top of it, but it still supports you properly.

Distressed Vintage Leather

The Starsky is upholstered in Italian-tanned distressed vintage leather.

You will see natural grain, markings, scars and tonal variation. No two pieces are identical. Each handmade sofa is unique and individual.

Over time, the leather softens and lightens rather than darkening. It develops character instead of becoming shiny or uniform. Before delivery, all leather is oiled and waxed to nourish the hide and provide initial protection.

This is a natural leather sofa designed to age properly, not stay artificially perfect.

The leather used in our furniture is a by-product of the farming industry. Using the hide ensures more of the animal is used rather than wasted. Our sofas are made using traditional upholstery methods and solid hardwood frames, which prioritise repair and re-covering over replacement. By making each leather sofa to order in Britain, we reduce unnecessary transport and support long-established British furniture making & upholstery skills.

• Clean stains with light warm soapy water and wash again with clean cold water. Pat dry or lightly with a hair dryer. Then buff up.
• Keep away from direct sunlight to prevent possible fading.
• Do not use abrasive and chemical materials such as sandpaper, alcohol, bleach for cleaning the surfaces.
• Protect from contact with sharp and hard objects.
• The leather can be cared for once a year, using a semi-analine cream added sparingly and buffed up.
