The Space is a compact, deep-seated leather armchair with a clear mid-century influence, built properly and finished for everyday use. It combines a clean, balanced shape with the practicality of a swivel base, making it well suited to modern living spaces where flexibility matters.

Each Space armchair is handmade to order in Britain on a solid hardwood frame. The frame gives the chair its weight and stability, keeping it supportive and dependable over years of regular use. This is traditional upholstery work, not lightweight imported furniture.

The chair is deep seated, with proportions that allow you to sit back comfortably rather than perch. The seat and back are supportive rather than soft or slouchy, making the chair suitable for reading, conversation, or longer periods of sitting without feeling rigid.

The backrest features a subtle panel-buttoned design. The buttoning isn’t just decorative — it helps the upholstery sit correctly, spread wear evenly, and maintain its shape over time. All visible seams are hand twin-stitched, with neat piping to define the edges and add strength where it’s needed.

The Space is upholstered in Italian-tanned distressed vintage leather. This is a 100% natural, semi-aniline leather with visible grain, markings, scars, and variation in tone. Each chair will be slightly different. Over time the leather softens and lightens rather than darkening, developing character instead of becoming shiny or uniform. All leather is oiled and waxed before delivery to nourish the hide and provide initial protection.

The brushed-metal swivel base allows the chair to rotate smoothly through 360 degrees without lifting or dragging. It’s a practical feature that works particularly well in open-plan rooms, home offices, or reading corners where the chair needs to adapt to the space rather than stay fixed.

This is a British-made armchair designed to be kept. The materials and construction allow it to be serviced and re-upholstered in the future rather than replaced.

Each Space armchair is handmade to order in Britain with a typical lead time of 4–6 weeks.

• Clean stains with light warm soapy water and wash again with clean cold water. Pat dry or lightly with a hair dryer. Then buff up.
• Keep away from direct sunlight to prevent possible fading.
• Do not use abrasive and chemical materials such as sandpaper, alcohol, bleach for cleaning the surfaces.
• Protect from contact with sharp and hard objects.
• The leather can be cared for once a year, using a semi-analine cream added sparingly and buffed up.
