The Jet trades our usual club and wingback shapes for something cleaner, tapered legs and a lower-slung profile borrowed from mid-century design, suited to a room with a more pared-back, considered feel. Those tapered legs are solid hardwood, turned and fitted by hand rather than moulded, a small detail that keeps the chair feeling genuinely made rather than assembled. Upholstery is our distressed vintage leather, a semi-aniline hide tanned in Italy from natural European cattle skins, hand-cut and fitted by our upholsterers so grain and colour vary slightly piece to piece, with a breathable cotton pad beneath the seat cushion letting the hide breathe rather than trapping heat underneath. Made to order in Britain, available in tan, brown, black or green. The leather lightens gradually with age rather than darkening, so the chair takes on more warmth and character the longer it's used rather than simply looking older. Lead time is four to six weeks, and every piece meets UK fire safety regulations.

• Clean stains with light warm soapy water and wash again with clean cold water. Pat dry or lightly with a hair dryer. Then buff up.
• Keep away from direct sunlight to prevent possible fading.
• Do not use abrasive and chemical materials such as sandpaper, alcohol, bleach for cleaning the surfaces.
• Protect from contact with sharp and hard objects.
• The leather can be cared for once a year, using a semi-analine cream added sparingly and buffed up.

The leather used in our furniture is a by-product of the farming industry. Using the hide ensures more of the animal is used rather than wasted. Our sofas are made using traditional upholstery methods and solid hardwood frames, which prioritise repair and re-covering over replacement.
