Sit the Howie next to the Hunter or the Chester and the difference is in the arms, its own shape rather than a straight repeat of the rest of the sofa range, though the deep seating underneath is built to the same standard throughout. It pairs genuine Harris Tweed, woven and stamped with the Orb mark in the Outer Hebrides, with distressed vintage leather trim, hand-fitted by our upholsterers rather than machine-stretched into place. Available in Herringbone or Check weave, and the leather trim will darken and soften with use at its own pace, separate from the tweed, so the two materials tell slightly different stories as the sofa ages. Seat cushions use a supportive foam core wrapped in fibre, so they keep their shape under everyday use rather than softening flat. Frame construction is solid hardwood, built to order in Britain. Available as a 2, 3 or 4-seater, suited to family rooms that see proper daily use rather than sofas kept for occasions. Lead time is four to six weeks, backed by a 15-year frame guarantee.

• Clean stains very lightly with warm water and pat dry with a cloth or very lightly dry with a hair dryer.
• Harris Tweed cushions are removable and can be dry cleaned.
• Keep away from direct sunlight to prevent the product from fading.
• Do not use abrasive or chemical materials such as sandpaper, alcohol, bleach for cleaning the surfaces.
• Protect from contact with sharp objects.
• The thread coming out of any part of the fabrics should never be pulled and torn. It should be cut with scissors without damaging the product.
• Leather can be maintained once a year, using a semi-aniline cream and lightly buffed
