Detailed Description

The Hunter takes the traditional Chesterfield shape and runs it in genuine Harris Tweed, with distressed vintage leather worked into the trim, built up to an Extra Large size so it suits a proper family living room as easily as a smaller sitting room. The back is traditionally hand-buttoned rather than machine-pressed, a slower process that holds its shape for the life of the sofa. The tweed is woven and stamped with the Orb mark in the Outer Hebrides, available in Herringbone or Check weave, hand-fitted alongside leather trim that will age at its own pace, so the two materials wear differently over time, which becomes part of the character rather than a flaw. Frame construction is solid hardwood, built to order in Britain, sized from a 2-seater right up to Extra Large. This is a sofa built for a room that gets proper daily use, and it's built to still be doing that job in twenty years. Lead time is four to six weeks, and every piece meets UK fire safety regulations.

Sustainability

The leather used in our furniture is a by-product of the farming industry. Using the hide ensures more of the animal is used rather than wasted. Our sofas are made using traditional upholstery methods and solid hardwood frames, which prioritise repair and re-covering over replacement. By making each leather sofa to order in Britain, we reduce unnecessary transport and support long-established British furniture making & upholstery skills.
