The Gatsby is a deep-seated leather sofa built in Britain using traditional upholstery methods rather than modern production shortcuts. It’s designed to be comfortable first, with generous proportions and a relaxed sit, while still keeping a clean, structured shape.

The seat depth allows you to sit back properly rather than perch on the edge. Despite the depth, the sofa remains supportive rather than slouchy, making it suitable for long evenings, everyday use, and proper lounging without losing its form.

A defining feature of the Gatsby is its detachable arm system. The sofa is delivered with the arms removed, which then slot firmly into place on site without tools. This makes delivery far easier in homes with narrow hallways, tight staircases, or older layouts, while still feeling solid and secure once assembled. It’s a practical solution that doesn’t compromise the long-term strength of the sofa.

Seat and back cushions are removable. Seat cushions are built with a supportive foam core wrapped in ultra silk fibre, designed to hold their shape and provide consistent comfort rather than softening or collapsing. Back cushions are loose and supportive, allowing a relaxed posture without sacrificing structure.

The Gatsby is upholstered in Italian-tanned distressed vintage leather. This is a 100% natural, semi-aniline leather with visible grain, markings, scars, and variation in tone. Each sofa will be slightly different. Over time the leather softens and lightens rather than darkening, developing character instead of becoming shiny or uniform. All leather is oiled and waxed before delivery to nourish the hide and provide initial protection.

Built on a solid hardwood frame and finished with hand twin-stitched seams and neat piping, the Gatsby is a British-made sofa designed to be repaired, re-covered, and kept in use for decades rather than replaced.

Available as a 2 seater, 3 seater, large 4 seater, or extra-large sofa. Each piece is handmade to order with a typical lead time of 4–6 weeks.

• Clean stains with light warm soapy water and wash again with clean cold water. Pat dry or lightly with a hair dryer. Then buff up.
• Keep away from direct sunlight to prevent possible fading.
• Do not use abrasive and chemical materials such as sandpaper, alcohol, bleach for cleaning the surfaces.
• Protect from contact with sharp and hard objects.
• The leather can be cared for once a year, using a semi-analine cream added sparingly and buffed up.
