This version of the Eccentric Professor splits its materials deliberately, genuine Harris Tweed across the body where you sit and distressed vintage leather on the arms where hands and elbows rest most, so each part is doing the job it's best suited to. The tweed is woven and stamped with the Orb mark in the Outer Hebrides, hand-fitted to the frame alongside leather arms in either tan or brown, cut and matched by our upholsterers rather than machine-stretched into place. The leather will darken and mellow gradually with genuine use, while the tweed simply wears in and softens, so the contrast between the two sharpens over the years rather than settling into one uniform tone. It keeps the same deep, rounded club chair seat used across the range, on a solid hardwood frame made to order in Britain, with seat cushions using a supportive foam core wrapped in fibre. It's a chair built to be sat in properly for years, not admired from across the room. Lead time is four to six weeks, and every piece meets UK fire safety regulations.

• Clean stains very lightly with warm water and pat dry with a cloth or very lightly dry with a hair dryer.
• Harris Tweed cushions are removable and can be dry cleaned.
• Keep away from direct sunlight to prevent the product from fading.
• Do not use abrasive or chemical materials such as sandpaper, alcohol, bleach for cleaning the surfaces.
• Protect from contact with sharp objects.
• The thread coming out of any part of the fabrics should never be pulled and torn. It should be cut with scissors without damaging the product.
• Leather can be maintained once a year, using a semi-aniline cream and lightly buffed
