The Wilder is a traditional club armchair that combines two materials that genuinely work well together: hard-wearing Harris Tweed and distressed vintage leather. It’s handmade to order in Britain using straightforward upholstery methods that prioritise structure, comfort, and longevity over fashion.

The body of the chair is upholstered in Harris Tweed, a proper wool cloth with weight and durability. Harris Tweed is hand-woven in the Outer Hebrides and supplied with an authentication tag stitched to the furniture. It wears well, holds its shape, and suits everyday use far better than lightweight decorative fabrics.

The arms and back are upholstered in Italian-tanned distressed vintage leather. This is a 100% natural, semi-aniline leather with visible grain, markings, and variation in tone. The leather is used where it matters most, protecting high-wear areas and giving the chair a clean, practical finish. Over time it softens and lightens rather than darkening, developing character instead of shine. All leather is oiled and waxed before delivery to nourish the hide and provide initial protection.

The Wilder is not a deep, slouchy chair. Like a proper club armchair, it’s designed for an upright, supportive sit. The proportions make it comfortable for reading or conversation, and compact enough to work well alongside a sofa without dominating the room.

The seat cushion is removable, with a cover suitable for dry cleaning. It’s built with a supportive foam core wrapped in ultra silk fibre, designed to hold its shape and provide consistent comfort for everyday use rather than softening or collapsing.

Finished with hand twin-stitched seams, leather piping, and turned hardwood legs with brass castors to the front, the Wilder is a British-made armchair designed to be repaired, re-covered, and kept in use rather than replaced.

Each Wilder Club Armchair is handmade to order in Britain with a typical lead time of 4–6 weeks.

• Clean stains very lightly with warm water and pat dry with a cloth or very lightly dry with a hair dryer.
• Harris Tweed cushions are removable and can be dry cleaned.
• Keep away from direct sunlight to prevent the product from fading.
• Do not use abrasive or chemical materials such as sandpaper, alcohol, bleach for cleaning the surfaces.
• Protect from contact with sharp objects.
• The thread coming out of any part of the fabrics should never be pulled and torn. It should be cut with scissors without damaging the product.
• Leather can be maintained once a year, using a semi-aniline cream and lightly buffed
