The Burlington Harris Tweed Armchair is a compact handmade British club chair built around traditional proportions. It’s designed to sit neatly into smaller rooms while still feeling properly supportive and settled — an armchair intended for everyday use rather than slouching or lounging.

The main body of the chair is upholstered in genuine Harris Tweed, handwoven from pure virgin wool in the Outer Hebrides and supplied with an authentication tag stitched to the furniture. Harris Tweed is chosen for its durability and breathability, making it comfortable year-round while holding its shape through regular use.

Distressed vintage leather is used on the arms and outer back, where wear is greatest. This leather is 100% natural, semi-aniline and tanned in Italy, with visible grain, markings and variation in tone. Each chair will be slightly different. Over time the leather softens and lightens rather than darkening, developing character instead of shine. All leather is oiled and waxed before delivery to nourish the hide and provide initial protection.

This is a club armchair, so the seat is not deep seated. The proportions are deliberately upright, offering a supportive sit that works well for reading, conversation and regular daily use. The gently arched back and scroll arms provide structure without making the chair feel stiff or formal.

The frame is a solid hardwood frame, giving the chair its weight and stability and allowing it to remain supportive over years of use. Traditional upholstery methods are used throughout, prioritising durability and repairability rather than lightweight construction.

The seat cushion is removable and built with a supportive foam core wrapped with ultra silk fibre. This gives consistent comfort while helping the cushion hold its shape over time. The overall feel is supportive rather than soft.

Like all our UK-made furniture, the Burlington is built to be kept. The frame and upholstery can be repaired, re-stuffed or re-covered in the future rather than replaced. It’s a straightforward, well-made Harris Tweed armchair designed for long-term use in real homes.

• Clean stains very lightly with warm water and pat dry with a cloth or very lightly dry with a hair dryer.
• Harris Tweed cushions are removable and can be dry cleaned.
• Keep away from direct sunlight to prevent the product from fading.
• Do not use abrasive or chemical materials such as sandpaper, alcohol, bleach for cleaning the surfaces.
• Protect from contact with sharp objects.
• The thread coming out of any part of the fabrics should never be pulled and torn. It should be cut with scissors without damaging the product.
• Leather can be maintained once a year, using a semi-aniline cream and lightly buffed
